Project Details

You will be required to work in groups of 4-5 to complete a Creative Group Project relating to research on a commodity. Each member will contribute research on a specific component of the commodity that they have completed for their final essay. Projects might include PowerPoint, illustrated history, etc. It will be a compilation of the research done by individual group members (see Individual Research and Essay below) and will demonstrate creative means of sharing what they have learned. With permission from students (as well as prior knowledge of what is expected) the creative projects will be used in the digital archives at Queen’s as a very useful knowledge database. This experience will also encourage students to utilize the digital archives.

How do we go about choosing a commodity?

First you need to decide individually which commodity you want to choose. You will then enroll in a group representative of your choice and a maximum of 2 groups will be working on each commodity. Some things are more popular than others and may fill up faster, so make sure you choose early. If you do not indicate a preference, a commodity will be chosen for you.
